I've only just started knitting up this yarn. So far it's nice to handle and has good stitch definition as I am knitting a winter cardigan with lots of cables. Cannot comment on how it washes the colour is gorgeous- I got the heathered bilberry.

Nubbly, warm yarn

This is the second time I’ve used this yarn to knit a pattern which should be made in Rowan Felted Tweed (but who can afford that??). This second one is identical to the first, as I’m doing it for a friend who loved mine. It knits evenly, with a delightful fleck. It’s slightly rough to the touch but comfortable to wear (can’t imagine I’d wear any wool product directly next to my skin). It holds its shape well. Haven't washed it yet. The wool content makes it really warm. The yarn doesn’t break, neither does is have any of those annoying joins some cheaper yarns do. It breaks by hand when you need to end a piece of knitting. I’d use it again, definitely. The Ryedale Russet is a lovely colour…
